The official Launch of the partnership between Cassona Global Imaging Limited Company (CGILC) and Mindray was held at the Lancaster Hotel in Kumasi on Friday, 23rd July 2023. The event started at 3pm on a with live demonstration of ultrasound procedures and viewing of Mindray state of the art imaging equipment on display.


The launch was organized in cerebration of the exclusive sole distributor agreement reached in March, 2023 between CGILC, a subsidiary of Cassona International, USA and Mindray, a leading manufacturer of mmedical equipment in China which gave CGILC the sole right as supply Mindray ultrasound and x-ray products in Ghana.


The occasion was attended by healthcare stakeholders such as members of the Private Health Facility Association of Ghana (PHFAoG), members of the Ghana Association of Radiologists and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of various medical facilities. Also in attendance were representatives of ABSA and Zenith banks in Ghana. Others were from the Manhyia Palace in addition to the media and the general public.
Special Guest Speakers were Mr. Joseph Xing, Mindray International Sales and Marketing Divisional Head for Africa, and Ms. Mary Goretty Owende, Mindray Application Specialist for English speaking Africa who presented on the use of the various software available and their effective application in early detection and diagnosis of abnormalities.

On her part, Madam Audrey Abakah, Head of Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises (SME) and Partners, ABSA Bank, Ghana and a member of the Board of Directors of CGILC, gave an insightful talk on”Guiding your Credit” and how Healthcare providers can qualify for bank loans. She mentioned character among other things as pre-requisites to credit-worthiness and further explained that, one’s track record with a bank is one of the ways the bank checks client’s character. She advised that health facilities ensure appropriate book keeping practices by employing the services of qualified accountants and financial experts to keep them in good standing to be credit worthy.


The partnership was officially launched with the CEO of CGILC, Mr. John Chigbu giving an inspiring speech on the strategic position of the company in contributing to national development. He emphasized on the words of John F. Kennedy, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”. According to him, a responsible citizen must be able to think of problem-solving ideas instead of waiting on government for virtually everything. He further stated that, the fundamental principle on which the Cassona brand was built emanated from the aforementioned mind-set, the can-do spirit. The tax lawyer and international business mogul pointed out that CGILC is not just in Ghana to supply medical imaging equipment but also provide affordable financing options in addition to regular maintenance, using indigenous engineers. He iterated the importance of this partnership with Mindray, and the shift from providing only refurbished medical imaging equipment to newly manufactured ones like those from Mindray. The CEO pledged Cassona’s continuous support to the PHFAoG with the trust that it inures to the mutual benefit of the two entities.


The new medical imaging equipment did not only come with a minimum of two years warranty but maintenance throughout the warranty period and beyond. In order to forestall damage to the equipment, Cassona provides compatible uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to every equipment sold which is a paradigm shift from what used be the situation in Ghana.
Cassona is simultaneously dedicated to the development of Ghana and as such, established a scholarship fund for deserving Ghanaians undergoing medical education. Cassona also provided support as part of cooperate-social responsibility by donating to the victims of the Weija floods, last year to alleviate the suffering that came with the disaster.


In his remarks to end the programme, Dr. Nana Agyeman Gyamfi-Kumaning, founder and CEO of Kumaning Hospital, who represented Nana Dr. Barima Oteng Kusi II (Otumfuo Nkonsontuanohene) welcome CGILC to Kumasi and commended the company for its contribution to the healthcare sector in Ghana. The event ended with an extraordinary fusion of music, interaction and a dinner.
